Wand no. 55, commissioned by, designed by, and made for ~
Arilya21! This wand is 13" long and was carved by hand from a mahogany dowel from Michaels over the course of about 7 hours. It was sanded with 60, 100, 150, 300, and 600 grit sandpaper, stained at the shaft with cherry stain, at the handle with provincial stain, and sealed with two coats of acrylic varnish. The spiral designs on the handle and the scale designs on the separators were done with a woodburning tool. There is also a burned "B" in the end pommel, but the wand turned, and you can't see it in this shot.
