5/13: Wow, a DD?! Did not expected that at all! Thank you!
Here it is - the finished version of the WIP pic
I posted on Tuesday. It's carved from butternut, aka white walnut (At least, I think so. The dowel just said "walnut"), sanded with 150, 300, and 600 grit sandpaper, stained with Minwax English Chestnut and Cherry colored stains, and finished with a couple coats of acrylic varnish.
The silver moon was done with silver paint and a coat of silver leaf, then varnished over. The moon design itself was burned in with a woodburning tool. The box is made with rawboard covered with craft paper. The wand bed fabric is a navy blue velvet, and the ribbon is a sheer silver.Praeclarus Wands and the Praeclarus Wands logo are trademarks of Maranda Li. Usual disclaimer: My crafts are in no way associated with religious/occult beliefs. Wandmaking is only a hobby and is my way of showing support for J.K. Rowling's wonderful world. All wand designs I make will not be repeated and are my original designs (and thus are (c) to me), and do not intentionally bear resemblance to any other wands found anywhere unless stated otherwise.
