Handmade Wand ''Praeclarus''

Here it is, my first ever wand, no. ML-137A. It was tentatively completed early January 2011 and modified Feb 1, 2011. (Modified again April 9, 2011) It was carved by hand from a birch dowel with whittling knives and measures 14 3/4" long.

Originally, the design had everything but the brown part of the shaft unsanded and colored black to achieve a woodburn effect, but that two color combo just looked too plain. So, I carved away the existing pommel's extra bits (it used to be pointy and angular) and rounded it off.

Total time (wand): about 12 hours
Total time (box): was my first one, still working out kinks, so about 5 hours.
