Handmade Wand ''Sherlock''

This wand is based on Sherlock Holmes, as played by Benedict Cumberbatch in the BBC series "Sherlock." It was hand-carved from a poplar dowel, sanded, stained with a light golden oak to enhance the poplar's natural color, and finished with acrylic sealer.

The shape of the piece is reminiscent of Sherlock's iconic coat and the pointed handle symbolizes Holmes' sharp intellect. In-universe, the 12.5" wand is Elder with a core of Dragon Heartstring and unyielding flexibility. According to Pottermore, Elder bonds only to those very unusual individuals and is the superior of his/her company. Bearers of Elder are marked out for a special destiny and feel a powerful affinity with those chosen by Rowan wands (John Watson).
